In your first consultation we will conduct a thorough examination of your eyes and perform all the necessary tests and scans.
We will need to dilate your eyes using eye drops that will affect your vision for a number of hours.
For this reason, we recommend you not drive directly after the consultation and that you have someone drive you or make other arrangements such as a taxi or bus.
We recommend you allow 2 hours for your consultation and 4 hours for the dilating drops to wear off.
In your first consultation, you will most likely be recommend a treatment for your eye condition.
Some treatment, such as laser, can be done on the day. Some treatment may require a day surgery theatre visit and can be booked on the day with usually only a few weeks wait.
We DO NOT BULK BILL. Full payment will be required on the day for each appointment. Medicare rebates do apply and an electronic Medicare claim can be processed on the day of your consultation.
We accept all payment methods with exception of personal cheques and bank transfers for consultations. Bank transfers are accepted for surgery payments.
You need to allow 2 hours for each appointment. This time is required to dilate your eyes with drops and conduct tests and scans.
You will not be able to drive home. Dilating drops will be used at your initial appointment and for most follow up appointments. These drops will cause temporary blurring of your eyesight and cause sensitivity to light. Driving is not recommended after your appointment so please make appropriate transport arrangements. Sunglasses can help with light sensitivity.
