When Dr Frances Kearney decided to become an eye surgeon over 20 years ago, she had one unwavering goal: she wanted to improve people’s life with better vision. Her uncompromising approach and desire to obtain greatness when it came to patient care and treatment saw her accepted into some of the world’s most prestigious hospitals.
Now, as the inspiration behind Horizon Surgical Eye Centre, Dr Kearney continues with this resolute approach to patient care. Australian-trained with international experience, Dr Kearney performed the first stem cell treatment for macular degeneration in Australia which was only the second one in the world.
Dr Kearney has a special interest in cataract surgery and medical retina, the treatment of age-related macular degeneration for which she is fellowship trained.
